Deer hunting 2011

Well, after living in South Dakota for 4-1/2 years now, it's time to get busy hunting. I have joined the National Field Archery Association, and have every intention of bow hunting next year, but you have to take a bow hunting safety course in this state, and they are not giving any more of those classes this year. So I guess I will resort to the Ithaca Deerslayer that used to be my grandfathers gun. I also didn't apply in time to get anything but a doe tag, but that's alright, meat is meat. Next year will be a whole different story, as I will also be getting a paddlefish tag. 2012 will be a good year for hunting and fishing for me and my son.
The challenge for this year will be getting my pickup truck repaired in time for the hunt (begins November 19th).
Update 10/28/2011
This morning I was able to purchase my deer tags, allowing me to harvest two does. We'll have to see how it goes, but I feel pretty good about getting at least one this year.
